A daytime activity festival has been announced for Tegg's Nose Country Park.

While parents work during the daytime in the October half term, they can drop their kids off at the Buxton Old Road national park, where they can develop their skills.

Rainow company Moorland Adventure will be hosting the three-day event.

They said: "This is a great way to experience some varied exciting activities in the countryside".

"Each day focuses on different activities and it will give kids a taste of adventure."

The character-building experience is suitable for anyone between the ages of 8 and 16.

Booking and payment in advance is essential. All three dates are held at Tegg's Nose, and are as follows:

Day 1 – Tuesday, 26th October – Archery, Problem Solving and Orienteering

Day 2 – Wednesday, 27th October – Climbing and Abseiling

Day 3 – Thursday, 28th October – Bushcraft Shelter Building, Pioneering and Tree Climbing

The cost £35 per day, making it £105 per child for all three days.

Activities run from 9.00am to 4.00pm but to allow for maximum flexibility, and you can drop off your child from 8.30am and collect at any time between 4.00pm and 5.00pm.

The Rainow company added: "Social distancing is difficult to observe during the waiting time, to reduce the exposure time we ask for children to be dropped off and picked up as close the activity times as possible."

"Please bring a packed lunch and drinks with you each day or you can purchase a packed lunch option (including sandwich, drink and snack) from Tegg's Nose Tea Room for £5.

"Breakfast and afternoon snacks are also available to purchase from the Tea Room before and after the activity club sessions."

Drop-off is at 8.30am and pick-up 5.00pm on each day.
