A pub near Macclesfield has seen success with a new pizza offering.

The Spinners Arms, of Palmerston Street in Bollington, have introduced an all-day pizza menu.

The freshly-made dough is hand-rolled, cooked in electric stone-baked pizza ovens.

There are five pizzas to choose from, with a choice of tomato, spicy or BBQ bases.

They have the best food hygiene rating possible. They can also cater for specific dietary requirements on request. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

Publican Adam Colebatch (40) came up with the idea, and explained what it is all about:

"We experimented with pizzas during COVID when we had to adapt to the restrictions," said Adam.

"And expanding on the pizza side of things now, we wanted to increase our offering and give our customers something else to come in for. Though we can do this menu on takeaway too.

"Pizzas are perfect for us as we have a small kitchen. As they are hand-pressed, we can roll them thicker, smaller or as you like them, making every pizza unique."

Being a venue welcome to families, dogs and sports fans, quality food you can pick up with your hand goes well with the hustle and bustle of the community pub. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

The menu is affordable, with the cheapest pizza being £6.50 and the most expensive being the Spinners Hot at £9.50 with mozzarella, fresh jalapeños and pepperoni.

There are also small plates to go with the new pizza menu, including chicken wings and chipolatas from Heathcote's Butchers in Bollington.

"The pepperoni is our best-seller", said Adam.

"But my favourite is the Spinners Hot as I love hot food, it goes perfect with some sriracha mayo.

The new pizza menu also comes with small plates such as skin-on fries and onion rings. There's an offer for three small plates for £13. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"We try to balance the price with covering our costs, while still giving people a great deal and delicious meal."

The Spinners Arms expects the menu to be the most popular when they are showing live sports, but you can order it throughout the day.

As the pub is open seven days a week, they are one of the few places in Bollington which serves food on Monday. Which is welcome news to both walkers and locals.

Eight people work at the pub, and they are currently hiring multiple staff members who can help out at the bar and with this new kitchen offering.

Adam, who has been landlord of the pub for 11 years, is also currently sprucing up their beer garden for the summer which will be the perfect place to enjoy the pizza.

"I love my job for the people", revealed Adam.

"It can be frustrating seven days a week, but whenever I take some time away from it you miss the social environment and making people happy.

"We look forward to welcoming you down and trying out our new menu."

As well as some of the produce on the pizza menu, local products they sell include Stockport Gin. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

A community pub through and through, they have raised £1300 in the past 12 months for Macclesfield Mill Lane charity Space4Autism.

They've done this through quizzes, themed nights and donations at the bar.

They also have a charity pot for The Christie Macclesfield, and do an annual donation drive for George Street's Silklife Foodbank.

Pizza vouchers will also be given out at quiz nights, held on Sundays. The pub can seat 200.

The pub has just done a fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society UK this past weekend. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

They also have a Facebook.

The pub is owned by the same group that owns Macclesfield's The White Lion pub.

The Spinners Arms is located at 76 Palmerston St, Bollington, Macclesfield SK10 5PW.

The pub games - like the pizza menu - is also inexpensive with pool from 50p a go. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)
