There could be another party putting forward a candidate to be Macclesfield's next MP.
There are currently five parties who have put someone forward to potentially be Macclesfield's next member of parliament.
But it looks like a sixth could be announcing a prospective parliamentarian very soon.
A listing on the Reform Party website indicates they are looking for someone to stand in the next UK General Election or Macclesfield.
It can be seen in the image above.
The next general election will take place no later than the end of January 2025 and so far the Green Party (Amanda Iremonger), Conservatives (David Rutley MP), Labour (Tim Roca), the Liberal Democrats (Neil Christian), and the Social Democratic Party (Dickie Fletcher) have already announced their candidates for Macclesfield.
If the Reform Party were to stand, it would be the first time they have ever stood for office in Macclesfield for a general election.
Despite existing as the Brexit Party in 2019, they did not put up a candidate in the last General Election.
If a Reform Party candidate is confirmed, it would mean there are six candidates in a Macclesfield General Election for the second time.
Six candidates previously ran for General Election in Macclesfield in 2010, the parties which ran then were the Conservatives, Labour, Green, Liberal Democrats, UKIP and an Independent candidate.
Elsewhere in council elections, Reform UK stood in two Cheshire East wards in the Cheshire East local elections, but neither were in Macclesfield.
Regional Reform Party contacts have been contacted for comment. A spokesman said: "It is our intention to field a full slate of candidates at the next General Election, to which the team is currently working through applications."
Another said: "We will be standing a candidate come the election, however right now we are in the process of finding one."
"When we have successfully allocated a candidate it will be posted on the find my PPC page on the Reform website."
