Chestergate is getting one step closer to 100% filled retail units, as a new barbershop has opened in town.

Gents barbers Crate Cheshire opened their doors for the first time today, in what is the third chapter of a Cheshire small business success story.

The new men's hairdressers, located on 51 Chestergate, is co-ran by Cheshire residents Charlie Rose and Aidan Cragg.

Crate Cheshire Macclesfield's services span a gentleman's cut and finish, cut and finish with beard trim, back and sides, plus many more.

The business is called Crate from a mere moment of fate, where Charlie (left) received huge delivery of crates arrived when thinking of when to name his first barbershop in 2018. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"Crate Cheshire was set up in 2018 in Northwich as a gentleman's hair salon", said Charlie.

"We opened a second one three years ago in Knutsford and are now pleased to open our third in Macclesfield.

"Macclesfield was obvious to us as the next destination. We think there's a lot of potential here.

"The town is obviously growing, and we think will only get busier.

Crate employs eight across Cheshire, and will aim to get three people working in their Macclesfield site, and an apprentice as well. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"We like our unit at the end of a busy street. People can see us whether they are walking or driving past.

"It is a lovely street, we're pleased to be another independent business on Chestergate and look forward to getting to know the community."

They are doing an introductory offer where any customer that gets a gentleman's cut and finish can get a card which grants them 20% off their next visit.

Additionally, Crate Cheshire offer an OAP discount from Monday to Wednesday. Student discount is also available on Wednesdays.

You can also call to make a booking via 01625 420222. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

Crate Cheshire can also cut kids hair from ages 0-16 at a reduced price, and they can also colour men's hair.

The pair have 28 years of hairdressing experience between them, having worked with both men's and women's hair.

Charlie's parents were even hairdressers, meanwhile Aidan has relatives from Macc.

"We looked at a few different towns and liked the look of Macc and the way it is going," said Aidan.

They will be open five days a week. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"We try to get to know our clients and achieve exactly what the customer wants.

"We look forward to serving and getting to known the community."

Already an award-winning brand with their two other Cheshire branches, they want to bring the same high quality of service and trophies to their Macclesfield site.

Crate Cheshire Macclesfield will be open Tuesday 9-6, Wednesday 9-7, Thursday 9-8, Friday 9-7, Saturday 8-2.

They could also open on a Monday with more staff. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

Bookings can be made through their website www.cratecheshire.co.uk or via Instagram.
