The family of a 58-year-old step-dad who died in a collision in Macclesfield have paid tribute to him.

Alan Pimblott, from Macclesfield was the pedestrian involved in the collision with a Fiat 500 and Volkswagen Polo.

The fatal incident occurred on Chester Road as he was walking at around 7.10pm on Friday 1 October.

We reported on the incident earlier in the month, and now the Macclesfield victim who lost their life has been named.

Sadly, Alan passed away at the scene.

The Macclesfield family are being supported by specialist officers.

In a tribute, his family said: "[Alan was] born and lived in Macclesfield to a large and loving family.

"[He] tragically passed away on 1 October.

"[He was] fondly and lovingly known as 'Pimmy'.

"Alan joins his dad, Albert, his beloved mum, Gladys, brother, David and sister, Susan, leaving behind his partner, Jill, step daughter, Charlotte, all his brothers and sisters, their partners and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

"'Pimmy' or 'our Alan' loved his pool nights and was an avid Liverpool supporter but what proceeds him is his gentle, loving fun nature and he will be sadly missed by all.

"[His] funeral will take place on [Friday] 29 October at Macclesfield Crematorium at 12.15pm."

Officers in Macclesfield are working hard on the case.

Macclesfield Police Station is located on Brunswick Street.

Officers want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

Information and footage can be provided by calling 101 quoting IML 1097984 or via this link.
