Macclesfield: Gawsworth coffee morning raises £1500 for Bollington Parkinson's charity
The community spirit of the Macclesfield area has been praised, as the public came together in their droves to raise money for a local Parkinson's charity.
Yesterday at Gawsworth Church Hall, over 100 people attended a fundraiser for The ALEX Project, a Bollington-based charity to support those with Parkinson's disease.
Money was raised by the sale of cakes, secondhand goods and raffle tickets.
There may have been parking chaos in the carpark of the Methodist Church, but the event itself was anything but chaotic.
The charity coffee morning has raised an astounding amount for The ALEX Project.
The ALEX Project Treasurer Damian Mead said: "We raised £1,500 at the coffee morning."
"We had a big turnout, especially from the village.
"Thank you to everyone for their support, and also to the 43 businesses and individuals that donated prizes."
