It looks like a new nursery won't be coming to Macclesfield town centre.

Last August, plans were submitted for three floors of storage in Pickford Mill to become a children's nursery.

21 representations from members of the public were submitted regarding the plans, including concerns over traffic, parking and noise raised.

But 13 months later, it has been confirmed that this won't be happening.

This is because the the period for decision making in this application has now expired, and no appeal by the applicant has been made to the Secretary of State.

Pickford Street Mill currently contains businesses like The Fent Shop, The Carpet House, and Balance Pilates.

The plans left in limbo can be found HERE.

Last week, Cheshire East Council sent in an email to Macclesfield Nub News that they have seen "a major reduction in the backlog of planning applications and improvements to delivering more effective working and communication with applicants."
