A Gawsworth business is raising vital funds for a charity which serves Macclesfield.

Renew Medical Aesthetics (RMA) is a local skin clinic dedicated to celebrating natural beauty and wellness.

The small business has announced the details of its annual charitable initiative, the Face-A-Thon.

This year's fundraiser is in support of Cheshire Without Abuse (known as myCWA), who have a charity shop in central Macclesfield.

The event, which is taking place on Wednesday 6 March 2024, at RMA's semi-rural clinic, is aiming to raise £1,500 for the local charity through ten hours of non-stop facials.

The Face-A-Thon will see RMA's team of skilled professionals, including Kelly, Sharon, and Louise – all qualified nurses, perform up to 75 15-minute Express Facials, renowned for their effectiveness and rejuvenating properties. The medical-grade bespoke facials will be available for just £20, with half of the proceeds, £10, directly benefiting the charitable efforts of Cheshire Without Abuse. Plus, Renew Medical Aesthetics has pledged to double the donations received.

Cheshire Without Abuse has been a cornerstone in aiding adults and children impacted by domestic abuse in Cheshire since 1977. As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting its community, RMA is delighted to collaborate with CWA for this fantastic, and sadly, much needed cause.

The ten hour fundraiser will run from 8am to 6pm, providing ample opportunity for the community to participate. This event follows the overwhelming success of last year's Face-A-Thon charitable day.

Renew Medical Aesthetics is located on Congleton Road in Gawsworth.

Kelly Saynor, founder of Renew Medical Aesthetics and specialist aesthetics nurse for 20 years, said: "We're deeply passionate about our home town of Macclesfield so it's vital to us to give back to the community. We came up with the idea of a Face-A-Thon, where clients - old and new - can enjoy a relaxing, rejuvenating or refreshing express facial which is both a treat for them and much-needed support for our chosen charity - Cheshire Without Abuse.

"We had so much fun delivering back-to-back medical grade facials at last year's Face-A-Thon, so we're really looking forward to doing it again. It is tiring, but it's for a really good local cause, so we're committed to filling the appointments up again. If we don't get a break all day, we'll be happy as it means we'll be raising more funds for charity."

Cheshire Without Abuse operates a shop on Jordangate, Macclesfield, serving as a vital source of income for the charity and therefore those in need. By participating in the Face-A-Thon, individuals will not only treat themselves to a pampering session but also contribute to a cause that makes a tangible difference in the lives of survivors of domestic abuse.

Saskia Lightburn-Ritchie, CEO at Cheshire Without Abuse, said: "For almost 50 years, MyCWA has been a beacon of hope for individuals and families in Cheshire impacted by domestic abuse. Last year alone, we helped nearly 4,000 adults and children, and with each passing month, the demand for our services only intensifies. In my 30 years in this sector, I can say the level of demand for our services is nothing like I've ever known.

"A recent funding cut has left us facing an uphill battle, tasked with meeting soaring demand while operating with limited resources. In times like these, fundraisers play a crucial role in sustaining our vital work and ensuring that those in need receive the support they deserve.

"We are hugely grateful to the compassionate team at Renew Medical Aesthetics for their support through the Face-A-Thon initiative. Every donation we receive will directly benefit the adults and children within the local community who come to us in need."

To book your slot for an Express Facial at Renew Medical Aesthetic's Face-A-Thon in aid of CWA, please contact Laura at 0330 111 8547 or reserve at reception. Payments can be made over the phone or in person, with £10 directly allocated to Cheshire Without Abuse.

It is not the first time Renew have supported a domestic abuse charity, as 2022's Face-A-Thon benefitted the charity Refuge. You can follow the Macclesfield company on Facebook and Instagram
