Macclesfield: The Rossendale Trust resident in fifth-ever Great Manchester Run
A woman is taking part in her fifth Great Manchester Run.
Lucie Bevan, a tenant of Macclesfield good cause The Rossendale Trust, will be supported in her wheelchair around the course by the Trust's Operations Manager, David Clifford.
Lucie and David also took part last year, raising £439 for the Macclesfield charity, and £429 in 2022.
Lucie, who has complex learning and physical disabilities, finds immense joy and fulfilment in participating in running events, particularly from the sensory experiences it offers.
The Great Manchester 10k holds fond memories for Lucie and staff at the Trust, given the five previous entries. (And you can pledge funds to this year's donation drive HERE).
The Rossendale Trust is dedicated to ensuring that every tenant they support has the opportunity to pursue their passions and live life to the fullest. The Trust embraces diversity and celebrates individuals and their commitment to inclusion extends to participation in events like the Manchester 10k.
"I am immensely proud to support Lucie in the Great Manchester 10k," explains David.
"It is always an honour to be a part of her journey and the support from the crowds really helps us to get over that finish line.
"At The Rossendale Trust, we believe in creating opportunities for all our tenants and our participation in the Great Manchester 10k exemplifies this."
Macclesfield: The event takes place on May 26, and you can donate to the 2024 fundraiser HERE.
The Rossendale Trust celebrated their 50th anniversary last year.
