Huge empty shop The Hub has come up for sale in Macclesfield.

It has been vacant for a year-and-a-half, and it looks like it is after a new owner.

Vacant since Marks and Spencer shut there on November 29 2022, and previously marketed as a mixed use spaced called 'The Hub', the property has been put back on the market 18 months on from M&S' closure.

The asking price is £2.5 million.

Colliers is jointly marketing The Hub with Hallam Property Consultants.

"We're excited to bring this unique opportunity to the market," said Dominic Pozzoni, Director at Colliers in Manchester. "The Hub's central location, combined with its size and flexibility, make this a highly desirable opportunity for redevelopment."

"Macclesfield has had a renaissance in recent years with the leisure offering enhanced by recent restaurant openings including Picturedrome, Suburban Green and Wood Fire Smoke - all contributing to a diverse local economy.

"The Hub offers a blank canvas for a creative new owner to bring this prime town centre property back to life, allowing it to contribute once again to the vibrancy of this thriving market town."

"Located at 33 Mill Street, The Hub was formerly home to Marks & Spencer and sits in the heart of the town centre, conveniently close to Macclesfield train station and bus station. The property also includes surface car parking, goods lift and loading bay.

"Totalling 55,470 sq ft across the ground, first and second floors, the building offers large floorplates of 18,000 sq ft, providing flexible space for a variety of potential uses including offices, retail, leisure and residential."
