Now's your chance to enjoy a pie and a pint while raising money for charity.

East Cheshire Hospice has confirmed the return of its much-loved fundraising event.

A favourite in the local calendar, Pie and Pint gives people of all ages the chance to take part in a 5k or 10k sponsored countryside walk.

Upon completing the route, participants will be welcomed back with a freshly baked pie and a pint (or soft drink alternative).

"All the money raised from Pie and Pint goes directly towards helping East Cheshire Hospice continue to provide expert care, comfort and compassion to people affected by life-limiting illness," said Luke Hughes, community and events fundraiser.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, and support local hospice care.

"We look forward to welcoming both new and returning supporters."

This will be the third time East Cheshire Hospice has hosted Pie and Pint, following a break in 2024 to focus on Art Fair Cheshire.

This year's event, on Saturday, September 27, will start and finish at Macclesfield Rugby Union Club.

There attendees will be able to enjoy live music, a pub quiz, fundraising games, and local stalls.

Registration is now open at www.eastcheshirehospice.org.uk/events/pie-and-pint.

The entry fee includes the walk, a pie and pint (or soft drink alternative), and full access to the event village.

Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship or make an additional donation to help support the hospice's vital work.

East Cheshire Hospice is also on the lookout for a main sponsor and a drinks sponsor to help deliver the event.
