Given the current weather, it is going to be a while before we can whip the barbecue out once again.

But for when you do, why not impress friends and family with a brand new piece of kit?

That's because a new barbecue equipment shop has opened just a short drive from Macclesfield.

A new independent family run dedicated BBQ and cookout specialist has officially opened its doors just seven miles from Macclesfield town centre.

Buying a barbecue in person - compared to online - means you can get a proper gague of the size and how it will look in your garden.

Forton is the home of the outdoor cooking experts on Alderley Road, Chelford.

The new store will offer a personalised 121 service, providing grills, BBQs, and outdoor ovens. They will also offer 121 BBQ lessons at home and run outdoor cooking events throughout the year.

They also sell, parasols and garden furniture sourced from across the globe.

Their tailored approach ensures that customers create the perfect social space at home helping them select the best BBQ, outdoor oven, or grill to suit their space, lifestyle, and cooking preferences. Forton also provides complimentary home delivery and installation services, along with a subscription service that delivers all your BBQ accessory needs right to your doorstep throughout the BBQ season.

The new retailer is inside a former single story farm building.

The family-owned business is the brainchild of founder Jim Kenyon, a Knutsford resident.

Jim has been a prominent retailer in the north west for many years. With a rich history in retail, having owned Fantasia and Facets on King Street, Knutsford, for 23 years in the 1990s and 2000s.

"In establishing Forton, I have combined my three passions: outdoor cooking, retail and exceptional customer service." said Jim.

"We travel the world to bring you the finest appliances and outdoor leisure accessories, creating the ultimate social space in the comfort of your own home. With our home consultations and delivery services, we go the extra mile by firing up your grill, ensuring you can start enjoying it right away.

Harry, Freddi, Heather and Jim Kenyon of Forton Chelford.

"We want people to explore and refine their art of outdoor cooking with us."

Forton will also offer bespoke 121 BBQ lessons at home as well as host a number of events at their showroom in Chelford throughout the year.

Forton is situated on Alderley Road, Chelford, in the Roadside Court development – look out for the black and white cow on the roadside.
