There's three days left to explore a ceramics pop-up that has been in Macclesfield this week.

The south west branch of the Northern Potters Association - which includes potters from Macclesfield - are currently exhibiting in the Grosvenor Centre.

Their unit at Macc Pop-up, contains bespoke pieces of pottery, porcelain and more.

Be quick! They will be gone by Monday.

Whether it is a charmingly-handmade egg cup, to a plant pot in the shape of a cat, the items for sale are full of skill and character.

Two Macclesfield potters have their work you can currently buy in there, and one of them, Ann Davies, who specialises in stoneware clay, invited Macclesfield Nub News down for a chat.

"We're delighted to be here, and show everyone what we can all do", said Ann.

"I make plates for special occasions like weddings. Mine is not thrown on the wheel like Hazel's, they are slab-built."

"We have nine exhibitors who have things to buy here at the pop-up," said Hazel Higham from Newcastle-under-Lyme.

"It is about local potters all coming together to show our exhibits in Macclesfield."

The exhibitors are a mixture of career potters, and some who started as a hobby but have turned it into a business thanks to initiatives just like this.

"We've got the Great Pottery Throwdown to thank [for pottery's recent popularity]", said Congleton potter Pat Amies.

"Macclesfield College used to do a pottery course in ceramics, and like many across the UK they closed it for a while. But now they have brought it back."

Retired geochemist Joe Small has a wide variety of homeware up for sale.

The passionate potter, who also deals with porcelain, explained his wares' USPs.

"I use a gas kiln in my shed which uses a different effect on the clay, some of the pieces were even made of clay from my garden," he said.

"I produce high-fired reduction methods, inspired by the Leach pottery tradition. I first fell in love with pottery when I was 12, but I revisited it eight years ago."

Another ceramicist - Elicia Gardener - is from the Macclesfield Constituency parish of Disley. She is selling a variety of hand and wheel-made products.

The pottery pop-up is open this weekend Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
