A prominent town centre building is set for a new lease of life.

The Charles Roe Pub will soon be opening at the historic Charles Roe House on Chestergate.

The property has been vacant for over a year, having previously housed the Chestergate Hotel, featuring the Lilac Cottage tapas restaurant and the Amazonia cocktail bar.

A Facebook post announcing this new chapter reads: "Welcome to The Charles Roe Pub! Located in the heart of Macclesfield in the historic Charles Roe House.

"We're bringing new life to this remarkable Georgian building, serving proper pints, old-fashioned comfort, and a warm welcome to all.

"Expect live music, sports, and plenty of good times.

"We open the doors to our first floor on Friday, December 19 - pop in, get comfy, and let the good times begin."

The Charles Roe Pub has been contacted for further information.
