A musician with over a quarter-of-a-million fans who listen to her music every month, has decided to shoot her new music video in Macclesfield.

The music video for Irish pop musician CMAT's new single Stay for Something was entirely filmed in Macc.

Locations featured in the video include the Gas Road bridge under the Silk Road, with the performer singing in front of signs pointing towards the Middlewood Way.

Also featured are the Hibel Road footbridge, Sunderland Street, and the Duke Street Carpark.

Shots at Capesthorne Hall in Siddington and Hurdsfield also make the cut.

And your house might even make a cameo, as the song's emotional climax is filmed on residential streets dotted around the town centre.

Music video Director James Slater has been contacted for comment by Macclesfield Nub News, to reveal why they decided to shoot in Macc.

CMAT had this to say about the song Stay For Something: "It's basically just about questioning why I stayed / suffered in a bad relationship for as long as I did. trying to desperately find some kind of meaning in the mess and then being embarrassed when I remember the good parts."

"It's not very lyrical or poetic, it's just a lot of emotion and energy - this song, to me, sounds like going for a run at 1am with your headphones on full blast, screaming through the streets in order to get away from your problems. i hope that at least one person does that when they hear it."

The music video has only been out for a day, but already has over 6000 views. One YouTube commenter simple wrote: "CMAcclesfield," as a reference to the stage name of the music artist and the video's location.

The Macc-made music video comes just days ahead of the release of her second album, called CrazyMad, For Me.

Her new album, out October 13 has song titles like Such A Miranda and Vincent Kompany. Stay for Something also makes the trackless.
