Scooter rider airlifted to hospital after sustaining 'serious injuries' in crash

A scooter rider had to be airlifted to hospital following a crash.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Chester Road in Macclesfield on Sunday, March 15, following reports of a crash.
Upon arrival, Cheshire Police officers found a Lambretta Scooter had collided with a stationary Fiat 500.
The rider of the bike sustained 'serious injuries' and had to be taken to hospital via air ambulance.
A police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 5.40pm on Sunday 15 March, police were called to a collision on Chester Road, Macclesfield.
"Officers attended and found a Lambretta Scooter had collided with a stationary white Fiat 500.
"The rider of the bike, a 61-year-old man from Macclesfield, sustained serious injuries and was taken Manchester Royal infirmary via air ambulance.
"The Fiat was unoccupied at the time of the collision.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information or video footage which may aid the investigation is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 2289489, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us. "
