A listed building in Macclesfield wants to amp up its security.

Armoury Towers, a former barracks used to house soldiers, wants more CCTV outside.

The former military base, which became private residence in the 1980s, could get three more CCTV cameras.

This is according to a Cheshire East Council planning application which reveals they would be situated at the "front door, entrance hall and landing."

The Victorian building is no stranger to cameras. In 1986, a low-budget action movie was shot here. The film, titled Gunpowder, gained a cult following in West Germany and the Netherlands. You can watch it here.

Armoury Towers is located at at 5-8 Barracks Square, Macclesfield, SK11 8HF.
