Macclesfield Nub News wishes iconic Slade frontman Noddy Holder a happy 75th birthday today.

While Neville John Holder was born on June 15 1946, he has lived in our area over the past three decades.

He lives in Prestbury with his wife Suzan and 15-year-old son. His wife works as an author from their Cheshire home, where they have all spent lockdown together.

The powerful-voiced glam singer is best known for the festive hit Merry Xmas Everybody.

He is also known for Cum On Feel The Noize, which can be listened to above.

The aforementioned track, penned by Noddy, has been famously covered by Quiet Riot and Oasis.

Since moving to the parliamentary constituency of Macclesfield in the Early 2000s, he has been shown to support Macclesfield businesses.

Noddy Holder has frequented Margin Music on Macclesfield's Market Place in the past.

The Wallsall-born musician was made an MBE in 2000.

While footballers come and go in Prestbury, Noddy has found peace with our local area and will celebrate his 75th birthday here.

Happy Birthday Noddy!
