A Macclesfield charity that supports adults with learning disabilities has enjoyed a remarkable double success.

Staff at the Rossendale Trust are in celebration mode after receiving two prestigious awards recognising the impact of their work across Cheshire.

First up was the High Sheriff of Cheshire's Award for Community Involvement, celebrating the community benefit delivered through the trust's WorkTaste programme and through the volunteering opportunities at its Oakwood activities service.

Both initiatives play a vital role in improving employment prospects, strengthening community wellbeing, enhancing local environments, and contributing to Cheshire's economic resilience.

Steve Nichols, CEO of the Rossendale Trust, expressed his delight on receiving the award: "To receive such a prestigious acknowledgement for the work we do is a real honour.

"The impact that both WorkTaste and our Oakwood activities have on the people we support is outstanding, but that impact extends far beyond, benefiting the wider community. I am incredibly proud of everyone involved."

At just 26, Wendy has demonstrated exceptional leadership, helping guide the organisation through challenging times with the support of her colleagues.

Chair of trustees, Adam Schofield, said: "Wendy's determination and passion for the Trust, coupled with her meticulous work and financial skills, has transformed our entire finance department.

"I can't think of a more deserving award winner."

The Rossendale Trust continues to play a vital role across Cheshire, creating opportunities for people with learning disabilities to thrive, contribute and be valued within their communities.

These latest awards highlight not only the dedication of its staff but also the lasting difference the trust makes every day.
