Macclesfield's Afghani rug and gift store is set to relocate across town.

AfghanPure has announced it will soon be moving to a new location on Queen Victoria Street.

The move will see owner Waheed Farooqi Zarga bring his two businesses, AfghanPure and Mini Pound Plus, together under one roof.

He said: "This was a very difficult decision.

"This will allow me to manage my time far more effectively and be present for both, ensuring I can offer our lovely customers better service and a more focused shopping experience.

"While I have loved being at the market, having a single, dedicated location was the necessary next step."

Having moved to the UK from Afghanistan in 2022, Waheed initially set up business from home.

However, it was not long before he opened a stall at the indoor market selling authentic handmade rugs, kilims, cushion covers, shoulder bags, jewellery and crystals.

While sad to be leaving the market, Waheed is optimistic about what this move will mean for the business moving forward.

He said: "I am deeply saddened to be leaving Macclesfield Market Hall.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there amongst the lovely community of co-traders and will always be grateful for the tremendous support from both the customers and the market management.

"It was a wonderful chapter that I will cherish.

"But I am also incredibly excited! This move represents a significant step forward.

"It allows me to create a proper showroom where customers can view our rugs in a relaxed setting, at their convenience.

"I'm also looking forward to exploring new markets and events in the area, all while having a stable, central base to operate from."

Mini Pound Plus will occupy the ground floor of 3 Queen Victoria Streets, meaning customers will still be able to find a huge range of everyday essentials and fantastic value deals.

Meanwhile, AfghanPure will take over the basement with this new space allowing Waheed to stock an even greater variety of products.

He said: "I will have more room to display our beautiful rugs properly and plan to introduce new lines with time.

"Keep an eye out for new and exciting items!"

The move is expected to be complete by the end of September.

Until then, customers will be able to enjoy up to 40% off select items and special offers on jewellery.

Waheed added: "Visit us before the end of September to support our move and secure these exclusive deals.

"Thank you for your continued support—we can't wait to welcome you to our new location!"
