Thursday (03/04)

Open Mic Night

Get the weekend started off early at The Wharf.

The Brook Street pub is hosting an open mic night.

Every performer will be treated to a free drink.

Friday (04/04)

Music&Mike's

This week's lunchtime concert at St Michael's Church will be a recital by the talented local pianist Jamie Thompson who will be performing works by Pärt, Bach, Schumann, Debussy and Rachmaninoff.

Starting at 1.15pm, the show is free to attend.

Donations to East Cheshire Hospice and St Michael's are welcomed.

The Angel At My Table cafe will be open for hot meals and light refreshments.

Macc Woodfleet

Return to the The Wharf on Friday night for one of Silktown's most popular bands, Macc Woodfleet.

They will be supported by DeLorean.

The gig starts at 8pm.

Saturday (05/04)

Vets open day

Wright and Morten Vets are inviting the public to check out their new purpose-built veterinary hospital at Lyme Green Retail Park.

It will give pets and owners a chance to meet the team and look around the practice, as well as meet a number of special guests.

Carolyn Thorpe from Off Leash Dog Training, veterinary physiotherapist Lily Nye, and pet portrait photographer Helen Spiegl will be on-site to discuss their services and answer your questions.

Cartoon art club

Join cartoonist Marc Jackson at Room for Comics for a 'felt-pen, fun-packed cartooning session with NO rules and ZERO restrictions!'

Parents/adults are welcome to stay and watch the fun, or drop-off and grab a coffee from Flour Water Salt downstairs.

St Michael's - A programme of choral music by Lauridsen, Britten and Bach with organ and orchestra accompaniment. KEMS Macclesfield Singers and Symphony Orchestra are conducted by Mark McCombs

Sunday (06/04)

Clothing market

Picturedrome is hosting a clothing market from 10am to 4pm.

It has been organised by Leigh Jennings and Dick Vincent, the couple behind Dick's General Store.

"The previous two markets have been brilliant, bringing new customers to this end of town and seeing like-minded people come together, chat to traders and then enjoy some breakfast or lunch at Picturedrome in-between shopping," they said.

Talk on James Brindley

The next Swythamley Historical Society talk will be about James Brindley, the famous canal engineer.

The speak will be Peter Donaldson, from Longstone Historical Society, who first 'discovered' Brindley for himself when cruising the Trent & Mersey and Staffs & Worcester Canals (both being Brindley's creations).

The talk costs £4 to attend and will be held at the Swythamley Centre on Monday, April 7, starting at 7.30pm.
