What's on in Macclesfield this weekend: Live music, Treacle Market and more

Thursday (20/02) - Friendship and activity group

Beeyou Support Hive CIC is taking over The Castle on Thursday.
The community interest company is putting on a diamond painting craft session.
The session, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, is designed to help create new friendships in a welcoming environment.

Friday (21/02) - Badge Making

Room for Comics is hosting a badge making session on Friday afternoon.
Hosted by cartoonist Marc Jackson, the session is suitable for ages five and above.
No booking is required, just pop in between 1pm and 3pm.

Saturday and Sunday (22/02 & 23/03) - Book Festival

Its the final weekend of the Macclesfield Book Festival at Christ Church.
Saturday will see a visit from Paul Magrs, author of Doctor Who books, who will be giving a talk titled 'Life on Magrs'.
The festival comes to a close on Sunday with an hour-long performance from Open Strings, starting at 11.30am.
Saturday (22/02) - Live Music

The Bate Hall was recently taken over by Karly Goodison and Nathan Moore.
Part of their vision for the pub includes hosting live music, which starts with the Rain City Roses this Saturday.
Patrons will be treated to a night of covers, with everything from the 70s up until the present day.

Sunday (23/02) - Treacle Market

It's that time again, the Treacle Market returns on Sunday.
As ever, you can expect 140-plus stalls along with live entertainment and plenty of tasty food.
The market gets up and running at 10am, and comes to a close at 3.30pm.
Sunday (23/02) - Rock and Roll Afternoon

The Broken Cross Club is hosting an afternoon of rock and roll on Sunday.
Starting at 1pm, the event is headlined by Rock Back The Clock.
Support is provided by DJ Cadillac Dave.

Monday (24/02) - Book Making

Learn how to make your own simple concertina book.
Taking place at the Silk Museum, attendees will be taught how to use basic materials and equipment to make a small and perfectly-formed book that can be used for drawing or writing.

Tuesday (25/02) - Macc Lit and Phil

Macclesfield Literary and Philosophical Society is hosting archaeologist Mike Copper on Tuesday.
Starting at 7pm at the library, the talk will focus on the ongoing work on Neolithic Hebridean 'islets'.
