Poetry Pandemonium

Get the weekend started early at Mash Guru.

Hosted by Mark the Poet, this spoken word night will feature performances from Nick Degg and Martin CM.

Admission is just £3 on the door.

Friday (15/08)

VJ Day

Macclesfield Town Council will mark VJ Day with a service at St Michael's on Friday.

There will also be an exhibition by artist Trevor Druce on display.

Coffee Morning

One Project Macclesfield are hosting a coffee morning for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Head over to Dukes Court and enjoy some tasty cakes, a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

There will be also be many items on sale to help raise funds from bath bombs, wax melts, crocheted boobies, handmade scrunchies, and adventure bands.

Hill Climb

Head over the the Hanging Gate to cheer on the Macclesfield Wheelers as they take on their final hill climb of the season.

Wincle Grange Farm will be getting the BBQ started at 5pm.

The fun continues at the Hanging Gate on Saturday with the Brisket Shack serving up Texas barbecued beef from 4pm.

Macclesfield RUFC Pre-Season

Macclesfield RUFC's pre-season gets underway this Friday.

Fresh from surviving their first season in National 2 Rugby, Macclesfield will be looking to test themselves as they welcome Sale FC.

Entry is free, with the bar opening at 5.30pm ahead of a 7.45pm kick-off.

Sunday (17/08)

Sunday Scramble

East Cheshire Ramblers will be tackling two scrambles on Sunday - Crowden Clough and Grindsbrook Clough.

Those wanting to join in are asked to meet at Barbour Booth CP at 9.30am.

Summer Flower Arranging Workshop

Looking ahead to next week, North & Flower are hosting a workshop at Picturedrome.

Starting at 6pm, during this two-hour workshop you will learn about flower care, designing your arrangement and sustainable flower arranging techniques.

They will be using flowers and foliage grown locally on their Macclesfield flower farm.
