Are you looking for a fun way for your daughter aged 5-11 to get involved with football?

Well you don't have to look far, as new football sessions for girls is about to launch in Bollington.

Bollington business and Macclesfield Nub News sponsor Sylk Flooring, has also decided to sponsor girls football in Bollington.

The launch of the new girls football sessions mean Bollington United FC is an official Wildcat club.

"Our club promotes making friends, having fun all whist being coached by high quality FA qualified coaches and volunteers who deliver the wildcats sessions," said Chairman David Spruce.

"Bollington United prides itself on being an inclusive club and we're working hard to create more opportunities for girls within our club.

"The wildcats sessions are a perfect step towards building towards teams, for the 2024/25 season we will be offering teams at the following age group:

  • U8 – Year 2 & 3
  • U9 – Year 3 & 4
  • U10- Year 4 & 5
  • U11- Year 5 & 6

"If you would like to enquire about these teams then please fill in the form on this page or email us at [email protected]."

Bollington United FC, who play at the Capelli Sports Ground on Ovenhouse Lane, Bollington, already had female teams.

But these new girls sessions make the sport more accessible to younger female players in the Happy Valley.

Please note: These sessions are at a different venue, being All Hallows Catholic College, of Brooklands Avenue.

"Huge thanks to Sylk Flooring who have very kindly sponsored a year's worth of training so we can offer out these sessions for free," added David.

"We will meet every Wednesday at 6:30pm at All Hallows. They get an hour of free football every week. Just get in touch to sign up.

"We hope they can in the future for play in teams, but for now just for an hour of football training."

Two years ago, David Spruce told Nub News about his goals for these sessions to come to fruition, and now in June 2024, they have.

"It feels amazing", David also said.

"Ever since I got involved in the football club almost six years ago I had this vision.

"The joy that it will bring, and the fact it is free as well, to be able to offer free kid's footie is great."

If you are interested in signing up your daughter to the new free sessions, please contact the club via the contact form on this link.

Bollington United are also currently promoting a soccer school they are hosting with a former Manchester United footballer.
