Dean Valley Primary School is actively searching for dedicated, community-minded individuals to join its governing board as Co-opted Governors.

This is a valuable opportunity to play a key role in guiding the school's development and contributing to a positive educational environment.

The school is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in finance, human resources, legal affairs, or capital project management.

Governors provide strategic guidance without getting involved in daily operations, ensuring the school's resources are well-managed and its goals are aligned with community needs.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the board on the school's strategic direction, attending six full governing board meetings a year, visiting the school to gain an understanding of what the school does and seeing policy and procedure in practice, linking with a staff member to support an area such as safeguarding, curriculum and well-being, overseeing financial performance, and holding the headteacher and school leadership accountable.

If you are enthusiastic about education and have a few hours to spare each month, Dean Valley Primary School invites you to help shape the future of local education.

For more information on how to apply, please contact the school via email at [email protected].
