Macclesfield FC have continued to strengthen their squad - for the sixth time this month - with the signing of Kieran Curtis.

This follows the signing of attacking midfielder Jack Grimshaw earlier this week.

The Silkmen's sixth summer signing is a highly-rated 24-year-old English striker.

Kieran has a been a prolific striker throughout his career so far and arrives in Macc boasting an impressive goalscoring record.

Starting his career in the north west at St Helens Town, Kieran attracted some of the country's most illustrious scouts from an early age.

This resulted in him being offered trials at Wigan Athletic and most impressively, Liverpool, who spotted his undoubted talent and eye for goal.

After successfully progressing through the youth ranks at Town's Ruskin Drive, Kieran then made the short move over to the recently formed FC St Helens.

It was with The Stripes that Kieran really began to flourish, as he made twenty-seven starts in his debut season of 2018/19 - hitting the back of the net six times.

In addition to this, Kieran also scored five goals in four starts for the Reserve Team and this record was replicated during the curtailed 2019/20 season.

After averaging more than a goal a game for the First Team during the 2019/20 season, Kieran then found the back of the net fifteen times in eleven starts before the COVID-19 pandemic halted last season prematurely.

This played a crucial part in The Saints winning eight of their nine games played - a record which would see them finish top of the Cheshire League.

He now makes the big move to the Leasing.com Stadium, for Macclesfield FC's debut season.

"We are delighted to secure Kieran's services," said the club.

"Kieran is known to be a potent threat from set pieces and is also capable of scoring goals from distance.

"We would also like to express our gratitude to all at FC St Helens, who have been a pleasure to work with during this process."

The new Macc player has also tasted silverware before. He scored a winning goal in an under-16s League Cup final for St Helens Town.

He joins former Glossop North End forward Edy Maieco in Macc's current strikeforce.

It is hoped Kieran will link up well with the Portugese striker for Macclesfield this season.

Macclesfield FC congratulate Kieran and the club on the news. We look forward to seeing him play in our town in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division.
