Superdrug is to close down in Macclesfield.

Superdrug, which is located on Macclesfield's Mill Street, is to shut down later this year.

It is the first shop to close down on Mill Street since The Body Shop in the spring.

The closure means Macclesfield's nearest Superdrug stores will be in Wilmslow, Congleton, Stockport and Buxton.

The Mill Street shop will close down next month. Macclesfield Nub News contacted Superdrug for comment.

"We can confirm that the Macclesfield, Mill St, Superdrug store will close on September 14 2024," a spokesperson said.

"All team members are being offered positions in other stores and will be supported in finding alternative positions in the local area.

"We want to thank all of our customers for their support and once the store closes the closest stores to shop are located at Grove street, Wilmslow and Congleton High Street or customers can also shop online at Superdrug.com."

Alternative sellers of cosmetics and toiletries near to the departing Superdrug store range from Boots and Bodycare in the Grosvenor Centre, to FD Beauty on Chestergate.
