Viral sweet treat business opens new café and bakery in Macclesfield
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 13th Jul 2026
Macclesfield's newest café and bakery is now open.
Baked By Bean is officially up and running on Great King Street.
It marks an exciting new chapter for the business, founded by Becky Bean during the first Covid lockdown.
"I am so proud of how far this business has come," she said.
Baked By Bean started out as an online business, with Becky working out of her home kitchen.
Over the years it has made a name for itself locally, both as a trader at Macclesfield's Picturedrome and with its mobile cookie van, currently based at the Davenport Arms in Woodford.
Earlier this month, Baked By Bean departed the Chestergate food hall as it prepared to open up at its new permanent home on Great King Street.
"It feels different, but in a good way," Becky said.
"This new space is better than I had ever imagined."

Baked By Bean opened quietly on Monday, July 13, as Becky and the 15-strong team find their feet.
However, when the time is right, she is planning to celebrate the opening with her 120,000-plus Instagram followers.
Becky said: "I'm so excited!
"We're just taking it day-by-day, but let's see where things go!"
Baked By Bean has completely transformed the site previously home to Macclesfield Filipino Store.
Inside, you will find all of the sweet treats made popular by their Picturedrome stall, including cookies, brownies, school cake, banana loaf and more.
There is seating for around 20 people, with the open-plan layout allowing customers to see the baking team hard at work.
Baked By Bean is open 7am to 5pm daily.
