What's on in Macclesfield this Coronation weekend?
It is the Coronation this weekend, but even if you aren't celebrating it, there is so much to do in Macclesfield with it being another Bank Holiday weekend.

Now, here's what you can get up to in Macclesfield this weekend...
King Charles III Celebrations
Here's just some of the Coronation events going on in Macclesfield on Saturday May 6 (click the red links on the bullet points to find out more)
- There's a big screen viewing of the Coronation at St. Michael's Church from 10am to 3pm
- As do St. Peter's Church over in east Macclesfield
- The Pack Horse Bowling and Social Club on Abbey Rd will be having a street party, with a bar from 10am
- In Upton Priory, the Church of Resurrection will be bringing a bit of competition to the Coronation with a Royal-themed 'Bake Off'
- Gawsworth's Coronation celebration event includes a treasure hunt
- Kettleshulme's Coronation party will see a performance from the Whaley Bridge Brass Band
The following day there will also be events to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III
- St. Peter's Church will have lots of local stalls selling goodies, as well as a FREE BBQ on Sunday May 7
- Hurdsfield's The Green in the Corner will also get the barbie on for King Charles III
- Christ Church will have another rousing event with family vibes, but also with the addition of live music in the town centre
- Musicians performing at Lyme Green's Sunday party include Macclesfield's Joel Gardner, Kambala Samba Drum Band and Macclesfield's soul-twinged act The Chinese Marbles
- There's two live musicians at the Sunday Party at South Park
- If it rains, there's always an indoor family picnic in Bosley
- St. Paul's in East Macc will have a FREE community event full of local stalls and fun
And there's also Coronation events on other days this weekend:
- Like a separate Coronation celebration for very young kids in Hurdsfield
- Or an open church at St. Barnabas on 42 Lyme Avenue
- And throughout the weekend a pub in Tytherington is serving special Coronation Ale
Crafty Weekend
Saturday 6th May
For little ones who would like something a bit quieter, there's a lovely local craft event going on in town from a new Macclesfield venture.
The New Macclesfield School of Art will be hosting an event for children at The Silk Museum, Park Lane, Macclesfield.
Guests will be creating Egyptian Cats from air drying clay!
The event lasts for two hours on Saturday morning. £10 per child, a parent/carer gets to join in for free.

MADS Music
BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year Nominee Sam Sweeney is performing in Macclesfield on Sunday.
He has been called 'The fiddler with the Midas touch'.
Tickets: £16.00. Concert start time: 7:30pm (Doors open: 7:00pm).

Live Music at Red Willow
The outdoor planters are on, there's a thriving new food menu with SAVAGES Mussels, and now the packed event calendar is ready. Things are really happening at Red Willow!
The Park Green bar and brewers is hosting a teaser session for 'Party in the Pews'. which will take place in Macclesfield later this month.
The mini-preview will see five artists on Sunday afternoon perform, including some from Macclesfield.
