Concertina Book Making with Patty Callaghan

The Silk Museum is located on old Park Lane.

The Silk Museum will be flexing your creativity this weekend, and teaching a new skill.

Join them for this one-day workshop and learn how to make your own simple concertina book combining new paper for the pages with recycled materials for the covers.

We will use basic materials and equipment (including Patty's famous homemade flour and water paste!) to make a small and perfectly-formed book that can be used for drawing or writing.

Suitable for aged 16 years and over. Ticket price = £40. 10am to 4pm. Spaces limited.

Bird Saturday

Upton Priory birdwatching: Family fun in Macc's gorgeous greenery. 10:30am start.

Macclesfield RSPB Wildlife Explorers are inviting local families to join them and a team of birdwatching experts and enthusiasts to complete a count of the wild birds at Macclesfield Leisure Centre as part of the biggest wildlife survey in the world.

Wildlife Explorers have been working on the wilding project at the site with local charity Macc Wild Network.

With lots of hints and tips on completing your own RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch at home.

Meeting point: Macclesfield Leisure Centre, Priory Lane, Macclesfield, SK10 4AF.

Meet at the Leisure Centre entrance.

Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The event is free (suggested donation of £1 per child). 10:30am start.
