Macclesfield street dancers celebrate after claiming trophy haul at national championship

A Macclesfield dance school is celebrating success at a national competition.
Sylk Dance Academy took a 24-strong team to the SOAR British Street Dance Championship last weekend, March 14 to 16.
They returned home from the BEC Arena in Stretford with a haul of 12 trophies.
Amy Mayers, the dance studio's owner, was especially proud of her son, 12-year-old Oscar, who placed first in his solo category.
She said: "We are so proud to be representing Macclesfield at events like this.
"It's hard work and long weekends but I was beaming with pride for every single dancer that took part in the event and represented us so well."

Sylk were one of 22 dance studios from across the UK to have qualified for the championships, with hundreds of dancers taking part in the competition.
Representing Macclesfield and England, Sylk's team participated in battles, solos, duos, quads and 'megacrew' sections.
There was also the opportunity for parents to dance a duet with their children, with Amy and Oscar placing fourth out of 72 duos.
Amy said: "The British championship event is one we look forward to every year as it gives our dancers the opportunity to do workshops with incredible choreographers, compete against the best dance studios in the UK and most importantly, have an incredible experience with friends and family.
"The event is always the toughest of the year and pushes our dancers to go all out!
"It's where we see their biggest transformation and progression.
"We encourage them to watch and be inspired by the other dancers' at the event and to learn as much as they can over the weekend."
