As the year draws to a close, Macclesfield College is proud to reflect on a successful and rewarding year for its students, staff and wider college community.

Looking back to January 2025, the college saw strong engagement across all areas. Students benefited from a wide range of guest speakers, educational visits and trips, helping to enhance learning and provide valuable insight into future careers. A varied enrichment programme also gave students opportunities to develop new skills and interests alongside their main programme of study.

In February, the college celebrated the achievements of apprentices and employer partners at its annual Apprenticeship Awards. This success was further recognised later in the year when Macclesfield College received two prestigious awards: the Training and Education Award at the East Cheshire Chamber Awards and the Inclusive Excellence Award from Inclusion UK, highlighting the college's commitment to excellence and inclusion.

March marked a major milestone for the college. Following the release of Department for Education achievement data, Macclesfield College was ranked number one in Cheshire and Warrington for education and training for 16–19 year olds. This outstanding result reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of both students and staff, and the College's continued focus on high-quality education and support.

The College community came together throughout the year to mark important occasions, including hosting its first internal Culture Day in May and Remembrance Day in November.

Students also benefited from visits from key local stakeholders, including Cheshire Police, who worked with the college to raise awareness of knife crime and personal safety.

The Art & Media Exhibition, held in June, was a meaningful celebration of the creativity, imagination and skill of our students.

It provided an opportunity to reflect on the breadth of talent developed across the year, with work showcased from fine art, graphics, photography, textiles, fashion and creative media.

The exhibition highlighted not only the dedication of our students, but also the vibrant creative culture that continues to thrive at Macclesfield College.

Student achievement remained at the heart of college life, with the Annual Student Awards Evening held in June.

Strong enrolment figures in August and high application numbers reflect continued confidence in the College.

Engagement with prospective students and the local community remained a key priority throughout 2025.

Over 5,000 people were welcomed through the college doors during open events, with particularly strong attendance in October and November.

College teams also visited over 50 local schools, supporting young people as they consider their next steps.

Macclesfield College would like to thank its staff, students, partners and stakeholders for their continued support.

Season's greetings and a Happy New Year from everyone at Macclesfield College.
