Appeal launched to help family made homeless by Macclesfield fire

An appeal has been launched to support a family who have been made homeless following a fire.
The Old Millstone pub is calling on the community to help a local family get back on their feet.
It follows the blaze at Maydews Passage off Brook Street at the end of May.
A Facebook post shared by the pub on Waters Green reads: "A local family has been through an incredibly difficult time after the fire at the apartments at the bottom of Brook Street a few weeks ago.
"They were forced to leave their home and have been living in a hotel while technically homeless.
"Sadly, they lost everything in their fridge and freezer when the power was shut off for weeks, and despite reaching out for help, they have been left with very little support.
"They have been referred to a food bank, but they are still struggling and could really do with some extra help from the community.
"If we receive enough donations, we would also like to help other residents in the block who have lost belongings and essentials too."

A huge emergency service response descended on Maydews Passage on Wednesday, May 27, after a van and a neighbouring block of flats caught fire.
The building had to be evacuated, with a 25-year-old man airlifted to Wythenshawe Hospital with 'life-changing' injuries.
Now, the Old Millstone is asking for people to donate supermarket vouchers, toiletries and essentials, fresh groceries or small amounts of money to support the families who have had to leave their homes.
"Please get in touch. No family should have to face this alone, especially after losing so much," the pub's post adds.
"Let's come together and show what our community is all about.
"Every little bit helps, and kindness can make a huge difference."
