There will be only less empty retail unit on Chestergate as a new beauty business opens in Macclesfield.

Violet Salons Macclesfield is opening in Macclesfield next month.

It will open on 19 Chestergate, the east side of Chestergate closer to Macclesfield Town Hall.

They're keen to celebrate localness, given the fact that there are posters outside the shopfront referencing Macclesfield's 'silk' and 'treacle' connections.

The building has been vacant since Just Fruit and Veg shut early this year.

Before that it was Lord of the Pies, who would later switch to an online only operation late last year.

Violet Salons is a rebrand of Macclesfield mobile salon L.A Fox. Their products will have an ethical edge.

It will be a part of a competitive beauty market on Chestergate, with similar pre-existing businesses including Mia Bella across the road and MT Nail Studio on Chestergate's west side.

They're currently hiring, and you can find more about the business on their Instagram.

Macclesfield Nub News will cover their opening in March.
