A Macclesfield water company's can-do attitude has seen them launch a brand new product.

Crag Spring Water, in Wildboarclough near Macclesfield, was launched five years ago by Doran Binder.

He shook the bottled water industry up by being the only British company to use reusable glass water bottles, with Doran collecting and cleaning bottles instead of throwing them in the bin.

And now Crag Spring Water will be able to be enjoyed in canned form for the first time.

Orders have flooded in a from across the country, with the first batch of 3960 cans selling out in a week.

Entering the canned drinks market means Doran can have his water sold in more places, without him having to go and collect it.

All the while staying true to his environmental ethos, as aluminium cans are the most common and easy to recycle disposable drinks container in the world.

Like in the glass bottles that he will continue to sell, Crag Spring Water's canned version is the same great still and sparkling water Macclesfield knows and loves, just in a metal can.

As ever, the drink contains just one ingredient: natural Macclesfield mineral water. (Image - Macclesfield Nub News)

The canning of his water, which comes from Shutlinsgloe and runs underneath The Crag Inn on Nabbs Lane, now means he can sell his water to supermarkets and petrol stations nationwide.

Already a nutritious, natural product, the cans striking, bespoke, reflective design adds value to the already luxury yet affordable product.

"We wanted to design a drink that would look cool," said Doran.

"We want to target markets that have never thought about buying a bottle of water before because all the branding is too boring. Take teenage boys who would never buy water for example, but they would buy something that looks like this."

The design references both Doran, and Wildboarclough itself, with two wild boars appearing either side of an emblematic headshot of Doran.

The art also references Doran's half-Danish heritage, and his social media moniker 'Bearded Water Sommelier', which has seen him become a hit on Facebook and TikTok.

Crag Spring Water's second batch of canned water is coming soon.
