A carpet and flooring shop has been put up for two national awards just months after opening.

Martha Rose Interiors has been named as a finalist for Best New Business at the UK Small Business Awards 2026.

As if that wasn't enough reason to celebrate, the Brook Street store is also in the running for Retail Shop of the Year at the National Flooring Awards.

Owner Nev Hinchliffe said: "When we opened our showroom, our vision was simple, to create a destination where people could discover exceptional flooring, inspiring art and beautiful interiors, all backed by expert advice and personal service.

"To now be recognised nationally in not one, but two award programmes is something we're incredibly proud of.

"A huge thank you to our amazing team, whose passion and dedication make Martha Rose Interiors what it is every single day.

Martha Rose Interiors only opened its doors earlier this year.

Having spent 24 years at Arighi Bianchi, Nev described it as a 'dream come true' to open his own shop

Located at the Old Stables, the store took over the space previously home to Massey & Dooley Antiques and Clock Gallery.

Inside you will find a wide range of carpets and wood, laminate and luxury vinyl tile options as well as a selection of rugs and a gallery space showcasing local artists.

The shop and gallery is open 9.30am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday.
