A Macclesfield hairdressers are celebrating a triple-sweep of award nominations.

Violet Salons offer hair colouring, extensions, keratin smoothing, hair-ups and more from their site on 19 Chestergate.

As well as their first anniversary being just days away, the business ran by Andrew Jackson and Liam Fox have received some more good news.

They have been nominated for a trio of gongs at the Official UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

Macclesfield Nub News popped into the east Chestergate salon to find out more.

"We've been nominated as a finalist for Best New Salon," said Liam.

"We have also been nominated in Best for Blonde category, and our stylist and colour technician Victoria Rogers has been nominated for Best Hair Stylist of the Year."

The awards ceremony will be held in Birmingham on June 1.

Their new recruits Victoria Rogers and Dani Bennett were also nominated in the UK Official Hair and Beauty Awards last year.

This weekend, Violet Salons will be hosting their first birthday party for anyone to attend.

"It feels absolutely incredible, we are very proud of the team and what we have achieved in such a short space of time," added Andrew.

"The salon opened on April 1 last year, so with it being Treacle Market on Easter Sunday (March 31), we thought it was a good time to celebrate.

"So we will have cake, cocktails, a DJ, goody bags, and Bollington Balloons will be here. This is an open invitation for everyone to attend, and the celebration will start from 11am.

"There is also a scratch card competition for a chance to win GHD straighteners.

There's five staff, plus an apprentice, as they have struck an apprentice relationship with Macclesfield College. 

"Thanks to all the local businesses and community groups that have supported us," said Liam.

"We are pleased to say we will be opening our second site in the coming months.

"The team will continue to grow, and we will have extended opening hours in Macclesfield, once we expand the team. We may even expand to seven days a week." 

They also have SKN Cheshire downstairs, which is an aesthetics business ran by Andrew. 

"We would like to say thank you to all our loyal clients, old and new for continuing to believe in us," concluded Andrew.
