What's on in Macclesfield this weekend?

By Alex Greensmith 27th Jul 2022

It is that time of the week again, where Macclesfield Nub News rounds-up some of the biggest and best events happening in Macclesfield for the forthcoming weekend.

Today, we preview multiple markets, park events and more.

Don't forget you can add your Macclesfield events to our What's On section, potentially promoting it to our thousands of readers.

Now without further ado, let's get started with the round-up.

Treacle Market

Recent weeks have seen a few busy weekends in the town centre with Macc-Pow and Macc Pride,

And the event of this month is no exception! The Treacle Market is back, and while there is a small chance of rain, there is a guaranteed chance of fun.

New this month include retro-style, fold away beach chairs, complete with carry bags and a pattern based off vintage Macc Stripes. (From the home of Britain's first deck chair - no less!)

We'll detail more about what to expect at this Sunday's market in an upcoming article.

Park Market

If a Sunday marketing (Treacle) isn't enough for you, there is also a big outdoor market on Saturday this weekend.

Pop along to Victoria Park on Saturday late morning/early afternoon where Pearls of Cheshire are hosting a community fundraiser.

Pearls of Cheshire is a community based organisation supporting and helping disadvantaged women and youths across Cheshire East.

To support them, the Victoria Park market will have face painting and bouncy castle for the kids, as well as a host of stalls from local sellers and artists, there will also be lots of local food and drink options.

Wellness Walk

Keeping it charity themed, following raising almost £2000 this time last year, Bollington's The Bridgend Centre will be hosting another fundraising walk through stunning countryside.

The Sunday morning stroll is a six-miler, and family friendly. Turning up in fancy dress is encouraged to keep those spirits up, and you are guaranteed to feel at peace with the gorgeous scenery.

Entry is cheap, and there's some delicious food from The holly Bush pub waiting for you at the end of it.
