Results across Cheshire East

Provisional figures show that 66 per cent of pupils across Cheshire East achieved a standard pass (grade 4 or above) in GCSE English and maths combined and 45 per cent achieved a strong pass (grade 5 or above).

Overall results for pupils who studied vocational technical qualifications will be available in the autumn.

Councillor Emma Gilman, cabinet member for education and SEND at Cheshire East Council, said: "Today is a day for celebration and I am delighted to congratulate the many young people across Cheshire East on their achievements. As a corporate parent, I'm also pleased to see many of our cared for children reaching this milestone.

"Behind every result is a huge amount of hard work, determination and resilience, and our students should be incredibly proud of what they have accomplished. I would also like to thank parents, carers, teachers and school staff for the vital encouragement and support they have provided throughout the year."
