From a band with over half-a-million plays, to Remembrance Sunday, there's loads of things to do in Macclesfield this weekend.

Do feel free to promote your own event on the What's On section. It is free!

  1. Between Thorns Gig

Between Thorns are a burgeoning yoiung band from Macclesfield. Comprised of five local teenagers, the rockers have achieved 23,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Their most popular track, Brainwashed, has over 540,000 streams.Gaining most of their traction during lockdown, the band haven't had time to gig much in our town.

But they will be performing at The Swan with Two Necks this Friday, as their new EP hive mind comes out out on November 12th.

The performance at the Chestergate pub starts at 8pm. They'll be playing all the songs off the EP, old favourites, and some new ones written over lockdown.

St. Michael's Church will host a special evening of classical music on Saturday.

The Market Place Church will host a span of living and non-living composers, amid the beautiful setting of Grade II* listed church.

The compositions of Cambridge composer John Rutter will be a highlight of the show.

  1. Comedy Night

There are just 20 tickets left for the big night of belly-laughs at Macclesfield Rugby Club.

The penultimate comedy show of the year will take place at the Priory Park sports site on Friday.

Four diverse comedians will take the stage, and tickets cost just £15.

You can find out more details here.

  1. Remembrance Sunday

We've only listed one event for Sunday, as there is only one thing we should all be doing.

In addition to today's silence for Armistice Day (November 11), there will also be another honouring of our fallen soldiers on November 14.

Starting just before 11am, the accompanying Macclesfield parade will start from Town Hall on Market Place, and walking to the Park Green Cenotaph ready for the 11 o'clock silence.

There will then be a service before, marching back up to the Town Hall for the Mayor and associates to take the salute.

Silk Brass will be attending, as will Macclesfield Nub News.

The road from Rainow into Macclesfield will be closed on Sunday morning, for the villages own Remembrance celebrations.
