It is the first weekend of July!

Here's what we recommend you should get up to in Macclesfield.

With a mixture of paid and free events, including some from our Macclesfield What's On page, here's the FIVE finest events we think you should get up to in Macclesfield this weekend.

Kids Festival

This summer festival for your little ones sounds super!

If you can't wait until Macclesfield Festival on July 22, there's another family-oriented festival in Macc this weekend.

Funtopia is a new kids play festival at West Park on Saturday.

Kids under 90cm go free, kids and adults have to pay.

Hospice Fundraiser

It is one of the best known brands based in Macclesfield, and there's a big fundraiser going on for them this weekend.

East Cheshire Hospice will receive funds from a coffee morning at Macclesfield United Reformed Church on Park Green.

The church regularly hosts fundraisers on the weekends, and this one is from Saturday 10am-12pm.

East Cheshire Hospice's choir Claritas will be performing entertainment. £1 entry. More info HERE.

More Live Performance

Over at Victoria Park, there is some outdoor live entertainment.

Sunday July 2 2pm to 4pm will see Macclesfield's KEMS Concert Band take the bandstand.

There will be plenty of Disney tracks on the setlist, appropriate given 2023 is Disney's 100 years as a company.

The songs will include tunes from the universes of Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Lion King.

Other cinematic pieces will include the Indiana Jones theme, and one from The Phantom of the Opera.

More info HERE.

Church Party

Over in the Weston there's a summer party at St John's Church.

Free entry, but a suggested donation.

Another local choir will be performing.

Rural Macc Fete

Langley fete

Also in the great outdoors, the Langley Fete will take place this weekend.

This year's Langley fete will be held on Saturday 1 July from 12.30pm on Langley playing fields. For kids, there will be races, giant fun slide and roundabout, glitter tattoos and duck races on the River Bollin. Lots of stalls to browse plus the tombola, coconut shy and the Fell Race up and down Teggs Nose.

Our famous dog show has 8 categories including waggiest tail, best rescue, best veteran and the dog most like its owner! There will be plenty to eat and drink with a fantastic BBQ, tea tent, ice creams and the beer tent which will have a great selection of real ales. The fete finishes with live music.

More info HERE.

And that was it!
