5th Rising star opts to shoot music video in Macclesfield

Indie musician CMAT chose to film in Macclesfield for a music video this year, despite not being from the town.

Locations featured in the video include the Gas Road bridge under the Silk Road, with the performer singing in front of signs pointing towards the Middlewood Way.

Also featured are the Hibel Road footbridge, Sunderland Street, and the Duke Street Carpark

4th New neighbourhood coffee shop opens in Macclesfield

A friendly, new neighbourhood coffee shop opened in Macclesfield this September.

Cornershop Coffee on Brock Street has proved an instant hit. So much so, it ranks fourth in this list.

3rd New Pizzeria opens on Buxton Road

A new pizza place opened in east Macclesfield early this year.

Tommy's on Buxton Road was a hit even before it opened, with numerous Nub News articles about the business getting thousands of views.

2nd Former Macclesfield Poundland building set to be occupied by bar

In what has been a traditionally retail-focused unit on Mill Street, will now welcome hospitality.

Macclesfield Nub News was first to report that the Poundland building, which shut at the start of the year, has found a new tenant.

Lounges are converting it into a bar and cafe.

The opening of Duke's Deli in Duke's Court was the most read Macclesfield Nub News article of the year, and by some margin.

The new business - another for the Weston entrepreneur Kyle Frost - serves breakfast and lunch items.
