Just a few doors down, takeaway pizzeria Montano was just getting started, having officially opened at the very end of 2024.

A wide range of new businesses opened in February.
Dukes Court saw the arrival of both Project Seven, a hip-hop barbershop, and Scents & Sassology.
Elsewhere, Mamma Mia opened up at the former home of Lazeez.
There were also a couple of openings for fitness fanatics, with Move Studios launching on Pickford Street and Everybody Health and Leisure opening a town centre fitness hub next door to Travelodge.
March

Potentially the most divisive opening in recent times, bakery chain GAIL's began welcoming customers at the start of March.
Speaking of food, Zumuku finally opened up to diners, having started its takeaway service a few months earlier.
Meanwhile, brothers Joe and Barnaby Ward brought their successful online vintage clothing business, Bunker, to Charlotte Street.
April

Z in the Attic Emporium is a zero waste clothing store selling everything from underwear and hair accessories to cloth wipes and one-off upcycled items.
Looking outside of the town centre for a moment, Detroit Pizza made a dramatic entrance to the Broken Cross food scene, attracting huge queues on its opening day.
May

May was a very busy month for openings.
We saw the introduction of Mini Pound+ Shop on Queen Victoria Street and Jayz African Store on Charlotte Street, bringing foods from other parts of the world to Macclesfield.
Speaking of which, Globites opened opposite Picturedrome, serving up the only French tacos in town.
That wasn't the only new food option on Chestergate, with Spud Lounge opening to capitalise on the social media frenzy.
May also saw the arrival of two big name chains in Wynsors and COOK.
There was also a soft launch for Amazing India on Pickford Street just before the end of the month.
