Quantity Surveyor required for a leading main contractor in the Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for this award winning organisation that offers excellent job security and career growth opportunities.

The Quantity Surveyor role is an appointment with the commercial team.

The Quantity Surveyor works alongside the wider commercial team where required in order to ensure the overall commercial duties of the company are adhered to with a view to maximise profit and recover variation costs where ever possible.

This role requires a diligent and professional approach and will be both client and subcontractor facing, the current responsibilities will include but not limited to;

The Quantity Surveyor reports directly to the Commercial Manager and will assist with the commercial responsibilities for the project/ projects.

The role and responsibilities are predominantly as listed below:

• Working with the commercial team to ensure sub-contract tender packages are issued correctly and in line with the contract conditions and company policy and undertake evaluation of the tender returns

• Attend pre and post contract meetings, internally and externally

• Produce comprehensive subcontract orders, manage their return and completion with accurate records taken

• Administer Subcontractors accounts, in accordance with the subcontract, including valuing, re-measuring and certifying timely payments.

• Agreement of contract variations, communication of their outcome, implications and the preparation of forecast final accounts

• Material take-offs as required

• Assist with Weekly and monthly valuation for subcontractors and suppliers

• Assist with Internal and External Valuation

• Assisting where required with external valuations ensuring they are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract

• Assisting with the cash management of projects, by minimising costs and maximising value through proactive analysis

• Conduct negotiations with suppliers/sub-contractors regarding pricing and final accounts

• Management of onsite materials

• Monitoring of procurement schedule to ensure all critical milestone are reached

• Maintain dialogue with client and project team to ensure the successful delivery of the development on time and within budget

Ad hoc duties as required.

• Assisting with subcontract management

• Assisting with client account management

• Assisting the commercial teams ojectives that must be completed monthly:

• Assisting with the completion of monthly cost report in line with the Commercial/ Accounts calendar

• Assisting with external valuation submitted to the client

• Production and issue of client invoice where required

• Evaluation of subcontract applications and submission of relevant payment and payless notices Objectives that must be completed as required:

• Attendance at client meetings
