The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of M&E projects (electrically biased), ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, and budget. Reporting to the Projects Manager, you'll coordinate multi-skilled teams, manage subcontractors, maintain compliance, and drive high standards across all phases of site delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical delivery on M&E projects, ensuring safe, timely, and budget-aligned outcomes
Coordinate on-site labour, engineers, and subcontractors using internal software platforms
Procure and forecast materials, equipment, and resource requirements
Ensure works are delivered to BS7671 (18th Edition) and HTM 06-01 where applicable
Conduct testing, inspections, and sign-off of completed electrical works
Oversee joint M&E delivery in collaboration with mechanical teams
Handle site-level contract administration: programming, schedules, documentation, and reporting
Provide regular performance updates, identify risks, and support proactive issue resolution
Line-manage and mentor engineers and apprentices, including performance reviews and development
Lead H&S implementation across sites; conduct safety audits and ensure statutory compliance
Maintain all project documentation (e.g. permits, sign-offs, certifications) to legal and client standards
Negotiate supplier pricing and assist estimators with procurement and commercial alignment
Support hands-on work on-site when required to meet project needs

- ECS Gold Card Essential
Full UK Driving Licence Essential
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation Essential
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) Essential
2391 Test & Inspection Desirable
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical/Building Services Desirable
CSCS Black Managers Card Desirable
Experience
- Site management experience within M&E contracting Essential
Strong background in electrical systems delivery (commercial and/or industrial) Essential
Familiarity with healthcare, education, or similar regulated sectors Desirable
Hands-on experience as an engineer or installer Essential
SimPRO or similar project/documentation software use Desirable
Exposure to both principal contractor and subcontractor working environments Essential
Understanding of HTM 06-01 standards Desirable
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- Excellent understanding of BS7671, electrical compliance, and health & safety legislation
Knowledge of temporary works and Building Safety Act requirements
Awareness of specialist systems such as BMS, fire alarms, security, and lighting control Desirable
