Position: Head of Software

Salary: Up to 90,000

Office Location: Wilmslow + Flexible Hybrid Work from Home

The Role: KO2 are now working with a rapidly expanding startup in the smart energy sector who are now looking for a Head of Software to join them to lead, grow and manage their software development function. Their ideal candidate will have a strong embedded software design background (C/C++, Matlab and Simulink) and recent experience in a team leader or management role.

Working closely with the CTO you will take a lead on all matters related to the software design element of these cutting-edge devices, whilst working closely with other heads of departments. You will provide technical direction for the software team at an architecture level, owning the product lifecycle, requirements gathering, testing and implementation stages.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Embedded design background
• C/C++, Matlab, Simulink
• Technical leadership
• Team leadership or management of design teams

As the Head of Software you will have the chance to make a real impact in the design and development of these cutting-edge smart energy devices and can expect to take on a challenging, varied leadership role. You will own the technology roadmap, interface with customers and lead design reviews.

• Electronics product development
• Project management - Agile or Waterfall
• Safety critical systems
