We are seeking a skilled Product Safety Engineer to join our team at our lab facility in Buxton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge products and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of electrical safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive electrical safety assessments for new and existing products, adhering to relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Analyze and interpret test data, providing recommendations for design improvements to enhance electrical safety.
- Investigate electrical safety incidents, identifying root causes and developing strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on electrical safety best practices and standards.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure products meet all necessary electrical safety certifications.
- Ensure completion of all assigned work and documentation, including test reports and certificates, in accordance with required procedures and standards to maintain accreditation.
- Assist in internal and external calibrations on test equipment to ensure compliance with the quality system.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the laboratory and storerooms to minimize accidents and hazards, ensuring files, test equipment, and samples are easily accessible and usable.
- Stay updated on industry-specific electrical safety standards and regulations, ensuring products adhere to the latest requirements.
- Demonstrated track record as an Electrical Safety Engineer or in a comparable role within a pertinent industry, showcasing recent proficiency in operating test and measuring equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations, and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in utilizing electrical safety analysis tools and software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail coupled with a steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of electrical safety.
- Possession of professional certifications pertinent to electrical safety is advantageous.
- Proficient understanding of product safety standards, including EN 60335, EN 60598, EN 61558, EN 60745, EN 62368, EN 61010, EN 60601, among others.
- Demonstrated background in quality management or quality assurance practices.
- Previous employment history within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry.
- Possession of a valid Full Driving License eligible for use in the UK.
