Job Description – Assistant Project Accountant

(Reporting to Senior Project Accountant)

Candidates need to be part-qualified with a good academic record. They need to be able to work on multiple tasks and to quickly understand the commerciality of the Adelphi agencies. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified Accountant to develop their experience and work with a vibrant, growing business. Candidates will have the benefit of working with the Adelphi Group finance team as well as senior commercial colleagues across the Group

• Assistance with the work in progress in conjunction with the Senior Project Accountant.

• Review of the contribution movement versus reforecast expectations.

• Liaison with the business project leads on project status.

• Review of timesheets to each project to ensure time posted to correct project and subsequent investigation of the results.

• Review of project related costs to ensure both projected and within budget and investigation of any variances highlighted to the project leads.

• Monitoring of unbilled, work in progress and client advances at project level and reconciliation to ensure unbilled project values are kept as low as possible

• Review of sales invoices prepared by the accounts assistant.

• Reconciliation of projects before closing out.

• Adhoc financial support and consultancy to the Senior Project Accountant and business team.

• Assistance and review of client task orders and change orders in conjunction with the Senior Project Accountant and business project leads.

• Preparation of financial slides.

• Development, training and guidance across project systems.
