The Recruitment Co are looking for a Production Team Leader for the paint department for company located in MacclesfieldJOB PURPOSE:The Paint Team Leader is responsible for the day to supervision of the Paint department,ensuring that all Painted & Stained products meet the customers expectations in terms of Quality and Delivery.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day supervision of the team ensuring that product is painted or stained to the desired specification and on-time to the production schedule
  • Troubleshoot any issues within the department to ensure that the team can continue to work whilst the issues are resolved
  • Ensure that the team follow the SOP's in place, resulting in product that has been prepped, painted/stained and finished to the required Quality standards
  • Supervise the paint auxiliary team ensuring that the batching plan is followed, resulting in the efficient painting of doors with maximum batch sizes achieved and minimum colour changeovers
  • Ensure that the team has the suitable manpower and skill sets in place to achieve the production schedule.
  • Ensure that the NCR process is followed
  • Contribute ideas, and encourage others to identify opportunities for further improvements resulting in better Quality of product manufactured
  • Ensure all jobs (and paperwork) are completed and to the required standard and quality control standards are understood and adhered to.
  • Monitor general housekeeping and health and safety in the Paint & Staining area and continuously improve via implementation of 5S workplace organisation.
  • Run the Daily SQDC meeting for the department
  • Monitor compliance with H&S rules, raise any Health & Safety concerns with Management and proactively take action to minimise risks
  • Share knowledge with other team members, train where required, encourage others by having a constructive and positive attitude in the workplace. Be a role model in demonstrating the expected company working practices and behaviours, monitor others and escalate if they are not living the Values.
  • Provide "on the job training" for all staff members and ensure that they are trained to the required standard for the role being undertaken. Ensure cross training is in place to have enough cover for all tasks in the team and improve flexibility.
  • When required assist in the painting & staining of product

MEASURES OF SUCCESS/KPI's:

  • Achieving the KPI's set for Quality and Delivery
  • NCR & re-work reduction
  • Managing and improving paint and staining processes.
  • Excellent time and task management, leading by example.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, ensuring that issues are resolved and measures put in place to ensure they do not happen again
  • Ability to prioritise workload

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE SKILLS:

  • Hands on production experience leading teams
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience in a similar role within a paint/spraying department
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Computer Literate
  • Management of paperwork
