Fire Safety Coordinator

£39,000 per annum

Job Purpose: Ensure the identification and delivery of remedial actions through preventative cyclical maintenance, fire risk assessments, inspection, servicing, and testing. Support the Fire Safety Manager in delivering a value-for-money quality service to customers.

Duties:

  1. Support the Compliance Officer in contractor performance monitoring for statutory obligations and procurement changes.
  2. Ensure timely completion of remedial work identified through compliance-related servicing, inspection, testing, or risk assessment.
  3. Manage and monitor fire risk assessment actions from identification to completion.
  4. Monitor the quality of work by consultants and service providers, analyzing feedback to ensure adherence to standards, legislation, and contract documents.
  5. Support procurement activities, contributing to design briefs, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
  6. Manage and monitor remedial work budgets, authorizing variations, and conducting post-inspections.
  7. Collaborate with the Fire Safety Manager, Compliance Manager, and Compliance Officer to meet gas, electrical safety, and other compliance requirements.
  8. Work in a safe and compliant way, following laws, regulations, and best practices.
  9. Keep up to date with developments and best practices in Fire Safety, advising, promoting, and implementing innovation, value for money, and best value.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Construction-related degree or HND/HNC, or equivalent in a construction-based discipline.
  • Strong track record in managing the quality of contract delivery and on-site works.
  • Able to identify, build, monitor, and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders.
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Fire Regulations & Health and Safety Regulations within a housing environment.
  • Full Driving License and use of own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Proven track record in managing landlord surveying compliance projects.
  • Member of an appropriate professional body.
